IELTS - the International English Language Testing System - results are used for admission to universities, colleges and professions, as well as for immigration to English-speaking countries.

The IELTS tests has been designed by world leaders in language assessment in close consultation with academics, professional bodies and immigration authorities.  There are two different test modules - Academic and General Training.

This makes IELTS directly relevant and appealing to a wide range of test users.

IELTS provides a profile of a candidate's ability to use English.

What does the test involve?

Both the Academic and General Training modules cover the four language skills - listening, reading, writing and speaking.  All candidates take the same Listening and Speaking components.  There are different Reading and Writing components for the Academic and General Training modules.

Academic and General Training modules

The Academic module is for candidates wishing to study at undergraduate or postgrduate levels, and for those seeking professional registration.

The General Training module is for candidates wishing to migrate to an English-speaking country (Australia,Canada, New Zealand, UK), and for those wishing to train or study at below degree level.
